“My great hobby is researching ancestry. Over the last few decades, during which I have carried out intensive research using countless genealogical archives, I have repeatedly stumbled across a whole host of sources containing information about the Uscroft family name. Having collected a great deal of data, I have now decided to publish the fascinating history of your name in book form. In dealing with the hundreds of christenings, marriages and deaths involved, I have restricted myself to the use of recognised sources. The outcome of all my efforts has resulted in a publication which should greatly interest you: The Uscroft Family Chronicle. You yourself - as a descendant of this old name which goes back centuries - are also included in this edition!” Apparently his research dates back to 1625 and he has found a magnificent Uscroft coat of arms! I’d like to know where he expects to find all this stuff as it is believed that my Grandads descendants were from Russia originally and made their surname up to sound more English! A relative of mine has been researching that side of the family for quite a while now and has only got back to 1839 due to name changes. If we had ordered this publication before 17th October we could have had it for £34.95 but the regular price is £52.95. Think the money will be better spent on certs etc. Jeanette x
