this really annoys me. my girls are supposed to get their homework on monday and hand it in by friday.my eldest got her maths on monday but got her spellings yesterday.apart from not giving them much time to do it they're not being taught that things should be given in on correct days. the teacher says that another teacher forgot to bring the spellings in,well couldn't someone else thought of some and if my daughter goes in tomorrow and says shes forgot her homework its detention feel better for getting that out

karen i think they can be very hard on children not just in homework but in other things aswell.why don't you write a letter into the school explaining what had happened so they know that it wasn't your daughters fault and if they do give her a detention then let it be known that you are not happyxxxxxx(:

Lisa, i'll be writing in her homework book.she hasnt got long to do it and tonight she has a sports class at the local senior school. what annoys me is the excuse that the teacher forgot

I agree Karen. My 5 year old gets homework on a Friday to be handed in on the Monday - heaven forbid that we would wish to do family things at a weekend!! There is plenty of time for the stress of h/w when they are at secondary school - but at FIVE???!!! He also gets spellings once a week and reading every night. Carole

I'm sure we didn't get words like that to learn at that age. And they wonder why our children grow up too fast! They do not need this until secondary school - let them be children - they will have enough responsiblity whne they are grown. Oo - Karen you've got me started now.... I'm off for some choc - got a bit of a tickly cough!! LOL
