Paul - I know what you mean. If a Smith were to contact me I would be so overjoyed that I wouldn't care how rude they were:))))

Lol Bev:)) However I can't blame the Smiths this time as it is on my side. I have never had this happen before and have always had really lovely replies even from people who have no connection. Chrissie

thats up to you chrissie you could play 'i'll show you mine if you'll show me yours' i have been lucky all my contacts have been straight forward yes or no's, none asking to see my tree without showing me the link first obviously my lot were well brought up! unlike the Smiths(tongue in cheek here) lol bev

Thanks Bev The trouble is that although she is on e-mails in and out, I can't find her on the contacts list. On the in and out section there is what looks like a tankard of beer at the top with squares underneath - do I tick this please? Chrissie p.s. Am I about to be admitted to the Divvy club??????????

personal choice. I wouldn't give anyone access if they didn't have the courtesy to reply to an email (and yes, you're correct, that by pressing the request to view button, you send a message)

Christine2 Report 25 Nov 2004 20:23

So do I give her access or not?? If she has a link I would love to know, but will she tell me????????????

Bev

Bev Report 25 Nov 2004 20:23

actually if you look in 'my contacts' it tells you whos tree you can see and whos you cant and by the ones that cant you can click on 'requet to view' so i think there is an automatically generated e-mail that GR send Bev

Christine2 Report 25 Nov 2004 20:19

Thanks Paul - but WHY??

Unknown

Unknown Report 25 Nov 2004 20:18

No, I dont think it's autogenerated, she;s requesting to see your tree, and ignoring your mails

I'm sorry to ask, as I know this has come up before but can someone please tell me what to do. A little while ago I received a message from someone just saying "Please may I view your tree" I replied by asking what she thought the connection was but before she could reply I found an old contact with her and we did have a same name in our trees but I don't think we managed a link then. So I e-mailed again saying that I had found the old contact and had she now found a connection. I didn't get a reply, so today I tried again and e-mailed to ask her if she had found a connection and I have just recieved another e-mail from her just saying "please can I view your tree". My question is, could this e-mail be automatically generated somehow as surely she would have replied with a little more information? Chrissie
