Big fat thank you's! This widens my search - I was a bit frustrated at what I thought were dead ends. Abigail

In the town books that list all the streets and trades, councillors etc, for that year (usually annual books which have these lists for each of the towns and villages in them) I have found listings for each street. What I have found is a name for the number of each house. When it says private residences are these names the people who owned them or are they the names of the principal renters. I am confused as I know that there are several names at each residence but who is what? IF YOU KNOW WHat i mean!!!! Huge thanks Abigail
