I FEEL SO GUILTY

I've just opened my post and yet again there were more charity appeals. Small childrens desperate faces staring out at me appealing ME to help them. I have two charities of my own that I stick by and send them money on a regular basis. I can't help everyone, so the envelopes go in the bin along with the small charitiy envelopes that are put singarlary through the door, then to cap it all, people knock on my door and ask if they can have their envelopes back, (presumably containing money). I squirm when I tell them, "Sorry I only help my chosen charities". The looks I get back speak volumes. I feel so dreadful. Jo.

I am the same. Remember that your money only goes so far & at least you are supporting something that you believe in on a regular basis. More than can be said for most in this world. Shame a wave of your magic wand wouldn't do the trick! Helen

Morning Jo. Dont feel bad. We have the same here in Australia. Three and sometimes four times a week, especially around Christmas time, there is a Knock on the door, with someone wanting you to give a little. I get the Guilt's myself, but i cant give to everyone that knocks, as much as i would love to. I'm sure you give what you can afford, like the rest of us. Have a nice day. Tony Oz

Jo, I agree exactly with your sentiments. I support three charities and say when asked by a different one, reply "yours is not one of the three charities I support". It is hard, but if you end up giving to every charity, you would probably be a charity yourself!! Sue
