Does any one know whether the census are in sets for scotland if so where can you obtain them. (Phone number or an address would be good) This was asked for by a friend who is researching in the Peebleshire area and is having trouble trying to the get the census other that the 1881 which the Jesus of Latter Day Saints provides. Hi there the 1881, 1891 and 1901 censuscan all be found at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk (for a small fee). Earlier ones at local libraries and at New Register House in Edinburgh. There are various transcription efforts going on around scotland for the earlier censuses, but this is on a county-by-county basis. Check with www.genuki.org.uk for each county you are interested in to see the status for it.
