Every Christmas Eve at appox 11:30pm for the last ten years, i go outside and sit on my back porch. My trusty old dog " Danny" waddles up and sits by my side. We both have a bit of a yarn, and i tell him he's my best mate. He licks my hand, and i give him a pat and a scratch under the neck. At 12:00 Midnight i get up, and go inside. I walk to the fridge and get him his Christmas present ( Ham Hock.) and we sit back down on the porch, and i open up a bottle of beer, and thank him for being such a great friend. Animals are a man/woman's best friend. There there when your feeling down. They are trustworthy. They never answer back. They love you even if youv'e had a bad day. They greet you at the front door. They never complain. They protect you. And when you are feeling down and at your worst, they will always be there to listen. Thanks. to my mate " Danny" Tony Oz ( lest we forget.)
