Hi Len, We should all have the right to defend our family and home. I would have a go, I might come off worse, but that would not stop me from trying. My daughters house was broken into and the mess they did, as well as take items from their home. My daughter and son in law were so very upset. They did catch them, they got 18 months but this is taking in to account the other 83 crimes that they had done. June.

Totally agree. I'm a teacher and would want to teach them a lesson they wouldn't forget!

Wendy, your story reminded me of when I took all my kids to Knebworth Adventure playgound, years ago in the good old days when you could belt a miscreant and get cheered for it.We were driving along slowly over grass across the parkland when this lout walloped the top of the mini van with a chunk of wood he had in his hand. I stopped the van, lept out, wacked him with his wood ,got in the car and was driving again before anyone had a chance to think.Suddenly all my boys were laughing and shouting GOOD ONE MA. They still talk about it now in their 40's Rose

What I can never never understand, if a burglar comes into my house and I bang him over the head with a vase, how come he can sue ME and I get sent to jail? Surely everyone has the right to defend themselves what ever. Yes I agree with you Len. Jo.

My Ma-in law lives in the country ,right out in the country on a farm and she has a shot-gun beside her bed. Even what happened to Mr Martin didn't stop her. Rose

I believe that every person should have the right to defend their family, home, and property and to use such force as may be necessary to do so with impunity. Anyone else have any thoughts on the subject????? Len in Gosport
