Years ago, when I was single my much older neighbours left a sliced loaf on my doorstep. The gift tag on it read, " Merry Xmas. Breakfast is on us today". !!

We always had presents on the tree as an extra on Christmas evening. My Dad once went right down in the popularity stakes when he bought my Mum a rubber hot water bottle. Ann Glos

It was from my mum's cousin, it was one of those model airfix planes that you've got to put together, which would have been fine except I was about 15. The only consolation was that my brother (5 years younger than me) got a miniature blackboard and chalk.

Anything from those free supplements you get inside newspapers like - a talking parrot with a xmas hat on an unwanted hair remover (I'm really not that hairy) support socks a clock shaped like a car I have all of these and the collection is growing - but they're from my Granny-in-law who is 92 so I love them really;-)) Saz

Years ago when I was 14 my Mum had died in the October. Come Christmas time my Gran asked me to meet her at the local electrical store as she was going to buy me something special for my Christmas present. I got there early and was looking at everything wondering what she could be buying me, a hairdryer, cassette player, maybe even a hi-fi? NO Granny arrives and buys me a twin tub washing machine! Bet I was the only 14 year old in the whole country who got one of those!! Christine

So far, the one that really has me 'pmsl' is the thought of Andy's 10 year old brother with the little blackboard and chalk, sorry I've gone off on one now and can't stop giggling :))))))))
