I've live in England since my marriage. When I lived in Scotland it was good luck for a tall, dark handsome stranger to come to your door. He usually had a lump of coal, so you would never be cold, a drink so you were never thirsty and food so you would never be hungry. Well Gregory Peck came to our door every year just after the bells sounded. Okay it was my dad but he wasn't half a looker in his younger days. Aileen |

Does anyone know what items you are supposed to take when you go first footing. I seem to remember it was something like coal,salt and maybe bread. Could some kind soul please put me right. Thanks Pat |
