Thanks will look into it some more. Assume it's wet tail as the symptoms seem to be there. She's had it for over a week, I just thought she was getting old and not cleaning herself. But was alerterd when her water was not going down, and we she got super skinny. She's a lovely hamster. Hasn't been on her wheel for a long time though. Poor babe.

Chole, So sorry to hear,I don't really think there is a great deal you can do have you taken him to the vet? wet tail can be treated but a hamster's life span is only about 18-24 months as i've had a few over the years. I've got one at the moment and she is so lovely any both my children play with her every day and i am dreading the thought of her going as we are all so attached to her. Nicky

Sorry to hear about your hamster Chloe, but I don't think they live very long and he may have reached the end of his. Acording to a website (google hamsters) they live 2- 3 years. Have a look it may give you some advice. Ros

My hamster, Bailey, is dying. I never thought it would upset me but it does. She's really skinny (usually a very fat hamster), sleeps all the time, has 'wet tail' and her top teeth seem to have broken off. She eat hardly anything, and drinks practically nothing. Poor babe. She's 1 year and 10 months old. Any advice? Chloe
