Hi Malcolm I remember that Monday very well, it was the day my son was born. I was having a contraction, stood up, leaning on the bed with the midwife rubbing my back, when the 8.30am news came on the radio. The emotions going through my head at that time. Here was I about to bring a new life into the world and all those poor people who had lost their's...... It makes me cry, even now just thinking about it. I think myself so lucky. I have a lovely strapping 16 year old, who is in the middle of his gcse mock exams. My thoughts are with you, and everyone else who lost a loved one that day. Sandra

Thinking of you Malcolm, and anyone who was involved in any way. I can remember bursting into tears of relief, when I heard that my nephew was not on that train on that particular day.

It happened not far from where I have family living and a friend was one of the Firefighters attending who later relayed some of the details. Awful for anyone involved at any level. Jacky

I remember it although I was living in Birmingham at the time. It happened just by Emmanuel School and I had played Rugby on their school field as a lad.

Yes Malc ... My friend was on that train and today has been a day of rememberance. It does make you realise about the important things in life ... it certainly makes you stop and think about what you say to people and how you say it .. you don't argue unnecessarily thats for sure, cos you never know if its the last thing your gonna say to someone. I was supposed to have a night out with my friend the weekend before the crash, but declined saying " I'll meet you next weekend " ...........
