Marjorie, could you buy them mail order to save you the trip? I've just looked on Ebay and they seem to have something that sounds similar. If you ordered/bought it tomorow you should get it in time for her to wrap !!!

I am feeling very stressed indeed today! I am in the ludicrous position of having to find my OWN present, the one my elderly friend wishes to give me! I stupidly, when asked what I wanted, being mindful that she is a pensioner, said "Oh, some of those stick things you put in Plantpots to tell you when they need watering". She does not go out, so I have to get them myself. It is not the right time of year for plant watering stick thingies, no-one has them. She phones me every day to see if I have got them yet. I said I couldnt get them. She has rung around, found a Garden Centre which is SIXTY MILES from where I live, which has them and she is all for me going to get them! They cost 1.89 - plus £20 petrol and half a days driving. I cant even pretend Ive got them, cos she wants me to take them round to her before Xmas so she can wrap them for me. Oh, GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!
