people who have been kind, nice, thoughful, caring to you over the last year. There are lots of people I would like to thank but would give special mention to Carol who helped find my birth Father, Alison in Shropshire for her help in look-ups, Lynda for her jokes and Misty, Poppy and Tracy, not forgetting Mum Anne, for a jolly good laugh the last few nights. Thanks also to all those other people to numerous too mention. You know who you are. Gerry

I cannot believe only three of us have anything nice to say about anyone. I am sure if I was having a "go" at someone there would be 50 postings by now. Sad

Don't be despondent Gerry! Your thread's only been up a short while and people are probably not online yet--hopefully this will get longer. It's nice to see a positive thread up here! I'd like to thank Susan and Francis, who provided me with a tonne of information on my family--then turned out to be distant cousins! Also thank you to Lisa, my Aussie pal, who did loads of research for me--including searching Norfolk graveyards for me when she was supposed to be on holiday! Thank you too to my family and friends who supported me through a big year of transition! Sal

To my kids, without whom I would not have had a reason to get throught the last 3 months. They're too young to realise what a difference they made. And my son's interest in our family history (despite him being only 6) gave me renewed interest in that too. Angela

Always have to be careful when naming names, as there's the risk of leaving out someone special!! My very first cyber-friend on GR was my beloved Gaynor, so special to me. And Lindy in the Algarve who found my living (birth) uncle in South Africa within hours. There are many others on GR who I also spend happy times with on messenger, so you know exactly who you are! Personally, my mum and dad are the best, they have been fantastic in adopting me and giving me such a good start in life, and this year they have met and accepted my wonderful brother as part of the family. My husband and my son who support and encourage me in everything I do, they accompanied me on my search for my birth family and never complain at how much time I spent on GR & family history. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of you, love Mandy :)

I would like to say a big thank you to my husband, Paul. He is the most kind generous person I know. He is patient when I was going through a really bad patch and never questioned anything. He is a fantstic father and I couldn't imagine life with out him. I would also like to thank our families for the support and help that they have given us and thank everyone on here for the help they have given me. One last thing........I hope you all have a very happy Christmas and New Year. Nicola xx
