I've actually been told that the programmes take quite a while to make so don't expect them on telly until 2006

Yes Andy, I agree. Perhaps the BBC could now repeat those programmes on BBC2 so everyone can view them. Glad to hear there is to be another series next year, although I dread to think what further effect it will have on the GRO's sending out of certificates Enjoyed Vic Reeves last night. Thought it was the most down to earth. Why don't any of these people ever end up with the wrong certificate? Rosemary(Essex)

Have yet to see last night's one with Vic Reeves. I think it's been entertaining on the whole to watch. My only disappointment was not being able to watch the 'How To' programmes with the professional genealogist, who's on each week. Seasoned genealogists probably feel that the series makes the process of obtaining census info, getting certificates etc seem like a straightforward process when in reality, this is certainly not always the case by any means. This is a fair point but any interest has to involve challenges along the way otherwise how do you sustain your interest?

The BBC has ordered a second series of popular celebrity genealogy show Who Do You Think You Are? The first series was a massive ratings winner for BBC Two, with a peak of over 7 million viewers and an average audience of 5 million. The show also managed the feat of usurping traditional ratings dominator Wife Swap on Channel 4. The new series of six episodes will air early next year. Series one is being repeated in the morning next week also. Hope that it is true, even thought this series will be shorter than the last, think the latest one was 10 episodes long. Merry Christmas, Nicola
