Eagles 4 Report 15 Dec 2004 21:08

My local Waitrose were selling Brazil nuts (with the shells ono) the other day when i went in which I thought was strange because I'm sure I heard the other day that they were no longer allowed to be sold with the shells still on for some reason??? However in answer to the question - definitely sugared almonds!!

McAnne's Gahan-Crazy Report 15 Dec 2004 21:15

Just Googled - apparently Asda Tesco and Sainsburys are not stocking any Brazil Nuts this year due to problems obtaining them. The European Union have dictated that they cannot be imported as they contain too many toxins which result from the way they are harvested, stored and transported!!

I like macadamia nuts and hazlenuts. Anne, I remember passing a Geiger Counter over nuts and school and Brazil nuts were the most radioactive of all the nuts. Put me off eating them for a while. http://news.bbc.*co.uk/1/hi/uk/4065611.stm Crista
