It would depend whereabouts you are looking for. My lot that I have found so far are all English, so I have subscribed to ancestry Uk, but altough it calls itself UK there's hardly anthing for Scotland or Northern Ireland. Some of the censuses cover Wales but not all. More is getting added over time I believe but some census years have some parts of Yorkshire missing. If you need any Ancestry look ups doing please feel free to conact me or post them up on the records board. There are some real experts there (not me unfortunately, I'm just an enthusiastic amateur!) Regards Ann

Lorraine, I would wait a while. I have been doing my research for years, the last two on the Internet, and I have found so much free stuff to work on that I haven't needed to pay anyone except GR. Save your money for Certificates. As for free sites, I would recommend Cousins Connected, Tribal Pages and Ancestral Villages. The more free websites you can display your tree on, the greater your chance of linking up with a fellow researcher. Good luck, Jim

Go to the Tips Board and in the search box type 'Best Websites.' Deb has posted five pages of sites to check - most of which are free. The Mormon site (familysearch*com) and Geneanet are great for starters also FreeBMD and FreeBMDUK.
