Well at least you got to the bus stop today. See if you can wait til you get off the bus tomorrow. I'm waiting til Christmas is over to have a go at quitting. I tried cutting down a few weeks ago and found that I could just about make it to dinner time without one. When I did give in I just smoked half at a time - managed to cut my smoking down to a third of what it had been. The only problem is it soon creeps up again so I think it's a case of all or nothing for me. Jeanette x |

HI Princess. I used to smoke and when I got into my car it began to smell bad like stale smoke then I decided to give and got some patches a week later a pal lit up a ciggy about three feet from me in the open air and it smelt foul I havent looked back since that was seven years ago in February coming Keep trying it is worth it in the end. GOOD LUCK!!! |

Hi Princess!! Been stopped for over 20 years now, still dont know how I managed it, went to a hypnotist, came out thinking "what a waste of time and money". Dont know what he did but the next time I caught a cold I stopped smoking, havent had one since, cant stand the smell. So dont give up until youve tried every avenue. Best of Luck Len in Gosport |

My husband has given up smoking after 40 years (20 a day). He uses NIQUITIN tablets which you can buy in any chemist. He gave up three months ago, and is doing great. When he feels like a ciggie, he has a tablet and the urge goes away. He would recommend them to anyone. They must be good for him to say that. Best of luck xx |

Take it from a bloke who used to smoke 50-60 a day it is hard, no you are not pathetic cos you are trying to improve your health. But a small warning my lungs are now damaged due to smoking. If you need help go to your local No Smoking clinic belive me it is worth it. |

Three hours is a good start! Maybe tomorrow you'll go the whole day without one. I've never smoked but realise that they're very addictive. |
