There'a a place called Shitterton, near Bere Regis in Dorset, I kid you not. Couldn't be in any other county really, could it, oooh-arrrr! Not far away, in Stoborough, near Wareham, is a no-through-road called Melancholy Lane. And Upwey, near Weymouth reminds me of my favourite Star Trek character...

Don E knock Darset now my lover.Beer Hacket is also in the countyan a few more giggles to be ad.There are the Piddles in Trenthide and the Piddle Valley -- yES ,oK WE ALL PIDDLED IN THE PIDDLE WHEN WE'M YOUNG.I never I was a nice little gal The Victorians were over sensitive about our place names and tried to change them from Piddle to Puddle,less offensive but it didn't catch on 'cept with Puddletown Good ole Darset-Ramblin Rose from deepest Darset

How meny of you live near the River River. When the Romans came over and asked what the name of several differnt rivers were, they were told Avon Which means River. So that is why we have so meny river Avons

The main road that runs through Ashtead village in Surrey (A24) is imaginatively named 'The Street'! I always wished I could live in Indian Queens in Cornwall. It sounds so lovely. Sue xx

there is a much hadham and little hadham - in bedfordshire i think
