We used to get our turkey from someone we knew who bred them. Only thing was we couldn't order the size, we just had to have what was left. One year my hubby came home with a 41 pounder! We had to cut off it's legs, wings and half of its body to get it in the oven. It was free though so we couldn't grumble. We just get a more managable 17lb now. Jeanette x

We've got two 10-12lb crowns on order - picking those up on Thursday, that's to feed 7 (and the dog I expect). I shall cook one here on Christmas Eve for cutting cold and/or freezing and the other is to cook Christmas morning for lunch (so we can have that SMELL!). We have a joint of pork too. We always had a huge bird at home when I was a child - so the first year we were married ordered a monster turkey too. We ate turkey for days and days! We didn't have a freezer, so it was kept in the bath! (the coldest place in the house - we didn't have central heating either!). We had turkey and chips, turkey shepherds pie, turkey burgers, turkey and ham pie - and of course turkey stew! - you name it - if a recipe could have turkey in it in any form whatsoever - we had it! My husband said (on about the 8th day) 'I don't know whether to go to bed or ROOST!' Thank goodness for freezers! Magsxx

Turkey I mean!! My other half has been out and bought an 8 pound something turkey, there will only be 4 of us for Christmas Dinner and we are going to Mum's on boxing day so no cold turkey and chips required. I have named it Timothy lol. What size do you buy and how many does it feed?
