Hi Julie It sounds as thoght the employer is trying to pull a fast one, just to get rid of your daughter but i woild make sure that she gets all that is due to her and i Hope she finds a new better job somewhere To Carol About the Dept of Employment helping they are just as bad with their own staff A few weeks ago my daughter was given a warning about her sickness record for this year. Then she was told she had to go to a hearing , at this she was informed that if she had anymore sick days they would have to consider terminating her employment She returned to her office and later that afternoon was told she had to go and see one of the big bosses upstairs .She did so and was amazed when he asked her if she would consider working full time again because she was the only person in the office who knew all the proceedures She turned his offer down Bren

they wouldnt dare i tell you too many parents would stand by daughter as they all know how she is and this all blew up few weeks ago because daughter phoned in sick one morning and boss said it wasnt conveinient, i intervened by phoning boss and she told me i was irritating her, i have helped out several times in the past too, so that makes me mad to think about it. i will keep my eyes on her and take advise thanks

i agree carol, hubby took contract into his boss to get it checked, it was only signed friday, we believe the boss is doing it underhanded to get rid of our daughter but if she employs anyone in the next 6 months or year, not sure which, daughter can sue. as she is making her redundant, its in writing. and i belive she will still trade under her name as she is a registered child minder, and has a buisness name for the job, she claims she will scale down till september when one child leaves and then offer to take back other children she letting go now, her and her husband wouldnt know the truth if it slapped um in the face , but unfortunately they are not good liars , the husband trys to be arrogant, till he has to chat to my husband . wot goes around!!

Hmmmm - curiouser and curiouser as Alice said. It does seem as though there's more to this, but I'm sure you're right and that your daughter is better off out of there. Hope she finds something that she loves soon.

after all the hassle daughter had recently with her boss, a new contract was drawn up , and all money owed paid in full , she agreed to go back and give it another try , but had intentions of looking for something else if it wasnt better in few weeks, nothing had really changed , and this morning out of the blue her boss said shes winding down the buisness and will give daughter months notice and extra weeks pay at end of january , providing she doesnt take any days off sick and continues to work in the manner she always has. it laughable really as i cant prove it but think theres more to that than meets the eye. daughter will be better out of there anyway
