Ramblin Rose Report 22 Dec 2004 10:41

Please NOT OLD SPICE Bob it makes me gasp!!! Hi Gerri,Don't get upset love,I'm invisible for days! I give all of them the benefit of my scintillating wit and wisdom and it falls like a lead brick, Then I'm off for a few days and someone says'Has anyone heard form Rose' so they do care.Keep posting regardless. Personally I read everythread in order in the morning.Sometimes I reply.sometimes Ireply and lose it.It just vanishes and I don't have the energy to type it all again. We all think we kill threads sometimes.I know I do .Just keep at it.I often put threads on that no one replies to ,so I answer myself just for fun.Keep the houmour in life and don't get depressed. WHAT WAS IT YOU SAID AGAIN-Sorry I ducked, missed me.- Hugs Rose

Gerri The great thing about the internet is that even if you do have BO no-one can tell! I answer threads according to their content and sometimes I might not have anything to add, but I agree generally. I've also posted threads here and on other boards and got no response, and then I've nudged them, or started a new thread on the same subject and had lots of replies. Don't take it personally, merry Christmas nell

I think I get that complex alot too and I've been here 2 years.... hence you'll not find too many of mine from the past as I erase them as they can look sad with too few replies!! But I know I'm loved by my pals on here and you will know it to when you need too!! HAPPY CRIMBO!!

Gerri, it happens when you might have answered one thread, then a particularly interesting thread starts up which will shoot the one you answered off the first page, so it is not seen immediately, people often hover around the first page for quite a while adding answers to threads, before you know it, the one you answered shoots off the 2nd page and almost out of sight. You then think you have killed it but you haven't, just one of those things and, yes it is annoying and, yes we all have it happen to us, even those of us not newbies. (anyway I have been seeing your name for quite a while now i thought so was surprised when you called yourself a newbie. ) What i am saying in this long winded way is: If all of us whose postings ended threads stopped posting, there wouldn't be a board. So just keep plugging away. Ann Glos

Hi Gerri, I like your seasonal name. What fragrance do you use? You smell pretty nice to me!! :O)

Michelle Report 22 Dec 2004 08:25

I very often feel the same and I'm not a newbie, I'm a very oldbie on here. Don't beat yourself up about it, someone has to end a thread, so you are just as special as the person who started it. M.

Hi Gerri, I will just echo what everyone else has said in their replies. There's no 'club' and nothing wrong with you at all! I also only reply to threads which particularly interest me, regardless of who has posted them. I do have some good friends on here, but I don't automatically add to their posts just because I know them. I came on here last night and ended up feeling quite lonely - everyone was obviously busy with their Christmas preparations (serves me right for being so organised!) and found that there weren't many replying to threads. So I had an early night! Love Mandy :)

Guinevere Report 22 Dec 2004 07:11

Hi Gerri, I tend to answer threads according to their content rather than who posts them so I don't "ignore" anyone, as far as I know. People are very busy at the moment, I was hardly on at all yesterday and won't be today - I'm off to Shropshire record office. Just keep on posting, Happy Christmas, Gwynne

Hi Gerri This is the THREAD KILLER here, Marion knows me very well LOL(she won't see this 'til tomorrow but I am the one and only) LOL Gerri I felt the very same as you, I was reading the general board for ages before I attempted to put my twopence worth on it, (I kept to the tips board in those days), I felt very self conscious it was like walking into a crowded room were you know no one everyone turns to look at you. The more I checked the boards the more I felt well hey they are saying the sort of stuff i feel like saying so why can't I say it too............ Mags is right on her post, I find it very upsetting sometimes that no one answers my little bit, then Elaine or Lynda (come one girl I am waiting for you)cheers me up with a joke and it spurs me on again. There is always a thread that comes up that you will want to add to, do it, don't think too much about it, and you'd be surprised by the amount of people who are itching to get a word in after you, and you will no longer be the thread killer!!! That is my claim to fame you are not getting it girl, not unless you fight for it LOL Good for you for starting this thread off, you must be half way there. Pat x

I've had an attack of the glums sometimes when a thread I answered seems to die a death. I wonder if what I said killed it. Just because you're Paranoid doesn't mean they're not all out to get you!!!!

Mags Report 22 Dec 2004 00:57

We all feel like this at some point - I know I did! Don't worry about it!!! - you are NOT being ignored - it's just one of those things - it's happened to me and lots of others and we are not all newbies! Sometimes when you put a lot of thought into a reply and no-one picks up your point you think ' Why did I bother' - but it's not always commented on - it doesn't mean that people haven't read it and nodded in agreement (or otherwise) Keep posting and you will see what I mean - some you win and some you lose (sort of) Magsxx
