They were saying on the news that shop sales were way down, and that the internet was taking over. I did get one third of presents on the internet and the rest in the high street.

I do virtually all my shopping online, including Christmas. I do like to see the stuff for real in the shops, so I have a few browsing trips then buy from the comfort of my own chair! Furious with myself now though for not booking my Tesco(.)com slot early enough - and have to now go and do battle in real life this morning! Mandy :)

I hate, loath, deteste shopping - I do anything to avoid it - usually I bribe the kids, husband, secretary, freinds, family or strangers to pick things up for me. If there is no option and I really have to do it - I prefer to shop alone, somewhere people do not know me. If I buy clothes for myself - I find one outfit that fits then purchase it in all the colour combinations on offer, same with shoes. Basically I don't do shopping, mobiles or kids. Miserable ol bag.

Bec Report 22 Dec 2004 09:20

I like to have a look online to get an idea of what I want. I normally have a prepared list of what I'm getting for who and then it's just a case of getting to the shops! Organised Becx

I do a lot more on the internet now as it is easy and quick, but some presents I need to see and hold before I decide. In the future, i think I will do a lot more on the internet. nell

Phew, 11.15. I've just got back from food shopping. Sainsburys was heaving, two blokes wanted to have a fight in the store because one reckoned the other one had pushed in. Anyway they got seperated and they agreed to meet outside! Well it releived the monotony. M&S was empty!!!! ....................until you got to the food hall..........BEDLAM!!!! I hate it and I'm glad to be home and sitting here. Better go and unpack it all now. Jo.

Nanna Gaynor (June nr Preston's Daughter) Report 22 Dec 2004 11:56

Nearly all my shopping online these days - I don't think I have bought anything in Preston this year... I did a bit at Deepdale Retail Outlet and have done some in Chorley but mainly it has been online. Gaynor :-)

I love shopping (especially for clothes) so I hit the shops. I hate all the long queues at christmas though. If there was someone at home to accept deliveries then I would probably do quite a lot of christmas shopping on line. Jack x

Just got back from Tesco. Yeeeuuuuurgh, have to go to bed for the afternoon now lol. I logged on at the weekend to have it all delivered, only to find that they had NO slots at all left for this week :( It was manic - crowded, noisy, bright lights ... actually I got outside and burst into tears! Perhaps I'll open the Bailey's now ... hic ..... Mandy :)
