PS, just seen your next post Nell - on the BBC lunchtime news, they did say that one of the victims was a woman.

Yes, Elaine put this on earlier. Frightening, as the stabbings appeared to be totally random. A shopkeeper was stabbed to death in Wood Green High Road last night, then there were more stabbings in the space of an hour or so this morning, in Edmonton and Wood Green areas. Fortunately the culprit has been arrested - at least he can't get anybody else. We had friends who lived in one of the roads mentioned, also lived in Wood Green and Enfield ourselves. Terrible tragedy at any time of year, but particularly difficult at Christmas. Mandy x

Not in the report I read on the BBC news website - but they were all men aged between 33 and 76. n.

Have just heard about some apparently random stabbings in North London. The police have arrested someone with a history of mental illness. One person is dead and 4 others have undergone emergency surgery. Thoughts are with all concerned. nell
