I found a list of people on a US genealogy website listed as 'windowers', which should have read 'widowers'. I hope their spouses didn't die 'in pane'! All together now, "GRO-O-O-AN!" CB >|<

It proves my point about always being so very careful of what you find on these sites.I have found lot of errors on the LDS site,I have notified them many times nd asked them to correct the incorrect material, but they just ignore my corrsepondence. It makes me very cross. It is after all-MY FAMILY-Rose

I came across 'Wotton Under-Edge' (Glos) mis-transcribed as 'Woolly Undersea' on Ancestry today - no wonder we all have problems finding folks!!

Have any of you come across a funny mistranscription on any internet genealogy databases as on the IGI I found a Dennis Elsdon married a Thomas Baker and my great grandfather Richard Titshall's birth registration was mistranscribed on Free BMD as Isobel Richard Titshall. Had to laugh.
