Please be careful..... i have just arrived home from trying to get a refund for a jacket that was bought for hubbie for xmas that was too big for him(none smaller) and was offered the sale price even though i had a "GIFT RECIEPT"- the assistant that i needed the purchase receipt for a full refund........... What a catch.............it seems the stores win everyway. DEBENHAMS EVERYONES FAVORITE STORE...........SORRY NOT MINE. Lizz

ohhhhhhh always keep the "full" receipt just in case. That said - I don't see how they can enforce this policy. I would have demanded to see the manager, on the shop floor, pointed out the date on the receipt, and demanded a full refund.

By law they cannot do this - insist on your rights. I had this with M & S some years ago until I pointed out that the item was purchased prior to the sale.

They can't do that! If you have a receipt prior to the sale, you are entitled to the full refund, if no receipt after (and most shops give 14 days anyway) then sale price only I'm afraid, and given in credit vouchers. I'm surprised at Debenham's attitude, I would contact the manager and complain Kim
