People missing from the Midlands

Jacky, it makes it even more realistic when you match the numbers up doesn't it. When the death toll reached 22,000 we realised it was just slightly less than the population of our town - now it's more than three times the population. Also read in the paper that the Thai weather station knew that something was going to happen, but they didn't forecast it in advance in case it affected their 'lucrative tourist trade'. Even a website announcement wasn't placed until 3 hours after the first wave hit. A terrible tragedy.

Jenny, They didn't say exactly where from just from the local area. I suppose they aren't giving details so as not to alarm people. I live in Solihull but originally from London. Have you looked at the sky site for messages? If not it is sky.com/news. All the messages emailed into sky news by people are listed on here. I hope you get good news soon. Jacky

Jackie. Sorry, I did not know you were in or from the Midlands. I was born and brought up there. Have been in the North East for eight years now. We are very worried at the moment. My daughters 16yr old school friend, from North Shields, and her family are out in Thailand. Last spoken to on MSN on Christmas Day. Where are the people from in the Midlands that are missing? Jenny.

People who have returned from Asia were interviewed on the local TV tonight. Their stories are awful. One man identified his wife in the morgue. There are still about 100 people missing from this area alone. That's about how many live in my road. May they be returned to their families safely. Jacky
