Have you tried contacting your local radio station - they are usually good for knowing who is collecting aid of all sorts during disasters. At least ours is.

I went to my local branch of Loyds TSB and had to queue to make a donation ,it just makes you feel that you have done something for this terrible event. I would like to now where i can donate summer clothes in my area (Ashford Kent) it will give me a chance to sort out my wardrobe for a very worth while cause . Val

I was in the Abbey National this pm, and the girl told me that since they had opened a relief account they had received over £80,000 in 2 hours. Way to go!!
