Hi Clarissa. I also found this. Pádraig Ó Miléadha was born in Skeheens in east Sliabh gCua, about three miles from Kilbrien in West Waterford He learned Irish Gaelic from his grandfather who spoke only Irish, as did all the people of the townland of Skeheens Cheers. Tony Oz

Well my family are McCarthys, the name Skehenne I was told was part of Touraneena Parish. Whether this is correct I don't know. I was assuming it may be an old town name. Clary

I typed the name into the search bar and came across an article. I have copied the last part here: "Patsy is a native of Skeheens in the Slab gCua area of County Waterford, the locality which was the birthplace of Padraig O'Milleadh, File na Deise and Padraig O'Fiannusa, teacher, writer and toponomist." So it obvioulsy still exists! Jacky
