For my Grandad. He was admitted to hospital after being rather unwell for a couple of days. He had a scan today and has a blockage of the bowel (he's had bowel cancer in the past). He is going down to theatre any time now for an endoscopy and then, depending on what they find, could be having an operation. He's 87 and looks so small and frail, bless him. Jeanette x *UPDATE* Grandads surgery was delayed until today because of emergencies coming in. They discovered he had a strangulated, perforated bowel and have removed the affected part. Unfortunately because he is so old and frail they have given him only a 30% chance of pulling through. Mum is with him and he has opened his eyes and acknowledged her. He is curretnly waiting for a bed on the High Dependancy Unit. Jeanette x
