PORTLAND is a shipping forecast area so I suppose I can't really grumble. It began with a thick sea mist which shut down all over the Island this morning. We drove to the main land and found that,as often happens,we drove out of it.PORTLAND had had its hat on. The day in Dorset was grey and overcast all day.Quite miserable but not cold.I went without a coat, so it must have been mild. On the way home we noticed that the wind had got up and it was quite choppy coming back over the causeway. It is now just a wet, drizzly evening.- Rain pouring down the conservatory roof and wind buffetting the house in gusts. Happy New Year Everyone-Rose |

It's -21 and about 2 inches of snow on the ground here in Calgary, Canada. Not too bad really, we had a nice walk around the neighbourhood after dinner this evening. There are a lot of families who have done a wonderful job of decorating the outside of their homes with christmas lights. When the snow is on the lights it is really very magical. Teresa |

Overcast and pleasantly warm as tropical storms brew in the north of the state, today's max was about 26C. Local conditions are still jumpy due to the recent tsunami - we're in the same region / on the same fault line - but the predicted forecast is for 38C by the end of the week. Better get my aircon fixed in a hurry! And I'd be happy to house swap with members in the icy, snowy regions for a cuppla weeks - probably wouldn't like to live there forever, but would certainly like to experience life in a different climate. Cheers Sue In Western Australia - where it's already tomorrow! |
