Collette Genealogy is a great time-waster! Some information is free, but there will come a point where you will have to invest time and money to find out what you want. Birth, marriage and death certificates are £7 each, but they are often the only source for information which you need. Go to the home page of this website and read through the "Getting Started Section" - you will need to scroll down to find it. nell

Hi Collette If you look on your Homepage there is a link about half way down on the right that gives you tips on how to get started. Also, on the Tips board there is a great thread that lists loads of useful websites. (just nudged it up for you) Good Luck Sue:-)

Hiya Collette, Try looking on the 1901 Cencus, 1837 on-line for starters,but there`s hundreds of sites you can visit,which takes a while to find them. Baz

Just starting my family tree. Have read a few good reports of this site, but could anyone give me a few pointers on where to start and does it cost a lot to get the information you need? Thanks and Happy New Year to all
