Have a look at the table below. It shows average WEEKLY wages for a variety of trades over 60 years. The values shown are converted to 2002 values. (Have a look at Barristers etc)

Bob how interesting. All my lot were Solicitors and Barristers in the 1800's and one line still is (not mine) but what I want to know is where did all the money go?!!!!! Linda x

So what is the worst paid job these days - The equivalent of Ag Lab in 1850?

Looks like it Dorothy. Remember that these are corrected for inflation so the wages would have gone up but the earning power gone down

I think the one I am most surprised at is Clergyman. Always thought that was a low paid job. Jacky
