Looks like normal bush fire. One man injured Friday January 7, 09:45 PM Man injured fighting Perth fire A man who was helping clear trees damaged by a bushfire in Yanchep, north of Perth, received serious head injuries when a branch fell on him. The man was working for the Department of Conservation and Land Management, clearing debris along Wanneroo Road this afternoon when he was injured. He is being treated for facial lacerations and internal head injuries. Investigators say the 1,200 hectare fire was deliberately lit. Roads in the area have been reopened but speed restrictions apply. Western Power has also restored electricity supplies to about 2,000 homes that were blacked out after power lines were damaged in the inferno

I was told that the poles holding up the power cables were being burnt down, so that will account for the loss of contact, I just pray they are all safe. June xx

Fires have been caused deliberately according to police, I spoke to one of our members this morning, they were likely to lose power at any moment. Already the contents of the frig and freezer were melted, they were trying to salvage what they could from the freezer because they were cut off from the shops. (There is only one road in/out.) I have just looked on the web for the latest update, it says residents have been escorted out by police. June xx
