Just had to tell someone. Today at the LMA I found my Dad's sister's christening. Although she was born 3 years before my Dad they were christened together (along with a baby brother). What is remarkable about that you may ask? Well, I never met my aunt and my father never talked about her (or the other two sisters that I've found in the last 6 months). In fact I only knew the forename of one sister and found another whilst looking for her. I found this one by looking for my Dad, the parish register gave me her date of birth as well. I also managed to connect names from a parish record to the 1851 census entry of my gr.gr.grandparents. I am so chuffed. viv, on her second glass of wine! UPDATE: The certificate came today....its not her! I'm having a good cry then I'm going to try again. I will find her if it kills me!!! FRC on Saturday morning before the East of London do. Viv.

Well done Viv, Just wish i had as much luck as you!!! I spent all day Tues at LMA and only managed to find 4 out of 8 baptisms. The middle four kids for some reason, this is despite the fact i have the eldest birth cert.

Shelli, I was so happy I cried. I went and looked out of a window and had a little toot to myself. I find I get very emotional these days. Got a quandry now though. Baptism gave her name as Vera Annie....GRO says Vera Ethel. Have sent for the certificate so we'll see 'who' she was! Hope you find yours soon Love Viv

I ended up swearing rather than any thing else LOL what didn't help was the electoral rolls i needed ( the ones that covered eldest birth) was unfit to be viewed!!!! and they're not on microfilm GGGRRRR have had a mail formt hem saying they hope to have them filmed within a month or so, so here's hoping. Just glad you've got another part of your jigsaw Shelli

Viv Fantastic. What a great day for you. Can't call you divvy now, can we! It's funny, but even though you know relatives existed, seeing their name on a microfilm, or document somehow makes them seem more real. Go on, have another glass! nell
