Emma When my eldest was little (she's 16 in 2 weeks) she had a favourite cuddly toy. One day at nursery she got his head caught at the top of the slide and as she pushed off the dogs head came off! My partner had to lock himself in the bathroom to sew it back on as she would have been traumatized to see a big needle being stuck into him! lol Jeanette x

Huh. The "doing it while theyre asleep" method doesnt work! I put Little Plum (the Teddy) in the machine while littlest was asleep and pegged him by his ears on the line. Went to bed, forgetting to bring him in - was awoken by terrible, heart-rending screams -"Little Plums Ears!!!!!Little Plums Ears!!!!" Wonder my neighbour didnt call Social Services.

Emma Don't drink coffee near your children's toys. Drink vodka, it doesn't stain! nell (can't remember ever washing my children's cuddlies - what a slut!)

Message from slut #2, don't think I ever washed cuddly toys either lol. My son had one of those blankets with the satin ribbon around the edges (called Feely!) and after trying to wash it once with terrifying, Social Services-inducing screams, I cracked it ........ bought a second, identical one! One to cuddle, one in the wash! Only trouble was, the stitching on the ribbon started to come adrift on one of them, so I put a couple of stitches in - and he knew!! The corner of the ribbon didn't feel the same, and he was really cross with me for sewing up Feely! It's a wonder our children ever turn out near-normal really! Mandy :)

Gosh, ths takes me back. My elder didn't mind me wahsing her toys - but with the younger, I had to hand wash them (like a baby). When she had gone to bed, I put them in the washing machine. They had to be hung out to dry ion a 'harness'. Even now (22 in 2 weeks, and at Uni) I'm not allowed to hang Harry bear up by his ears LOL maggie

Snap! Mandy, Both my boys had a blanket with the satin ribbon around the edges and both of them had the same habit of gently rubbing their blankets under their noses before falling asleep. When I washed the blankets they would stand next to the drying rack and hold on to the satin ribbon. Lindy;-))
