a little of everything - its good not to pigeonhole yourself. a good song is a good song, whether its rock, pop, country etc. I like to try listinging to people that I don't neccessarily know that well (recent good ones include Interpol, Rufus Wainwright). If I veer towards one type of music more than others though, I guess you could categorize it as "indie"

Definitely jazz........we had an uplifting three days in New Orleans last April which refuelled my enthusiasm and I have played a CD of a group who sat on the banks of the river, playing their hearts out, ever since.

Daniel, There have been a few great threads about music over the last few months. There was the favourite 10 songs thread in which I think most of us who joined in thought we could state hundreds as our favourites. Lou’s Northern Soul thread tonight took me back to the disco’s of the 70’s (I’m 43). I love all kinds of different music some of it mainstream, some I get into because of friends or talking to work mates. For Christmas I had a great CD which I can only describe as Country/Blues/Jazz/Gospel/Jamming !! It’s called Testifying by The Country Soul Revue. Recorded in Nashville it’s the collaboration of a mixture of musicians, singers, songwriters that have woven a significant chapter in the tapestry of American music (so the sleeve says). The friend who bought it for me knew I enjoyed commercial country music… Garth Brooks, Shania Twain etc. and thought I might like to try something a little off the wall from that. This was a CD that was made by musicians who classify this as Southern Soul. It’s a brilliant album, and very different from anything you might buy from the top 40 albums. Dave

Daniel I still like classical music, but in the car & around the house I tend to play rhythm & blues, rock & roll and soul music. I also like humorous songwriters like Randy Newman, Tom Lehrer & Jake Thackray. nell
