Oh I am going to show my age now.... I rang the Simon Bates show, spoke to Batesy myself. He'd just asked if anyone had been to see Bon Jovi at Wembley the night before. I told him I had and about the Jovi's special guests--Elton John, Brian May and Rick Allen (one armed drummer from Def Leppard). Yes I AM an eighties rock chick!

Have called in once during a discussion when the subject was smoking and asthma. The DJ said that smoking never affected asthmatics and it was all a load of nonsense and winging. At the time I had a 4 year year old who had been ill for 4 days with asthma after staying at grandparents where granddad smoked. I was not too pleased, very tired and felt like saying something. I did actually forget it was a live broadcast and got greeted at work next day as star of stage and radio. Jacky - suffering at the moment after spending a weekend with my brother who smokes!!

No, but when I worked for a TV/Radio station I sometimes had to pretend to be a 'caller' when they didn't get enough response. Used to be a bit of a giggle! Ooops! Perhaps I shouldn't be giving away trade secrets like that!

I was on the Steve Wright not so long ago, he is such a scream-puts you at ease before you go on air.

Never a 'Talk Show' but won a competition on Capital Radio, a butler, maid & chef for the day. That was breakfast in bed, served by the butler, lunch, up to 20 people for high tea and up to 8 people for evening meal. I chose the menu's and the drinks (got slaughtered that night, and so did the chef!) also the maid came in and did all my housewrok and ironing! Also 2Ten-Fm won a limited edition Cindy doll! Kim

I emailed the Jeremy Vine show last week when they had a discussion about changing jobs/career/lifestyle and they had some kind of lifestyle guru dispensing advice. I got a reply back asking me to give my phone number but I chickened out as being at work (my boss and the radio are in the same room) was hardly the best place to be talking about my career hopes and fears!

Apparently, 90% of a talk show's listeners never ring in. Are you part of the special 10%?
