Maz, We have had no trouble with son's 3 Network, in Enfield, Wickford, Eastbourne or in Surrey & Berks, that's why I got it also. If you go on their web site it shows coverage. I just had to confirm with them that it would work in Durham, low and behold, cuz rang from there on his!! And the phone is just as easy as my Nokia's have always been. kim x

Hi Maz, I switched about 3 months ago from Vodafone to O2. I got my phone through Carphone Warehouse and was very pleased with the service. My phone is a Sony Ericsson K700I (there is now a better model out I think). I love it, it's so easy to use. My last phone was the same make and I think my next one will be too. As far as O2 go coverage is very good but Vodafone is better - especially in Stoke Poges where my mum lives! Jack x

I only use my phone for speech (normally emergency only) and an occasional text, so very light usage. I was on a monthly contract with O2 and then prepaid £90 for 15 months with some free time thrown in (30 mins?). On renewal it was £90 for 12 months. Next time it was £120 for 12 months. I said "No thanks" and changed to pay-as-you-go , still with O2, and top up with a tenner about every three months. So they get about £40 a year out of me instead of the £72 per year which they'd have got if they hadn't started being greedy.

I am on 02 along with most of my family. Daughter's boyfriend has just got her a 3 mobile phone. £15 a month 500 (I think) free minutes to any network or landline and loads of free texts (can't remember how many she said). It's great for her to call out on, but she has also kept her 02 Genie phone as that has free texts & minutes too! While we were out today she had full signal on her 3 mobile whilst the rest of us on 02 had hardly any signal at all! I am on Pay as you go tariff and don't get free texts,so it's cheaper for me to phone my lot weekends and evenings than it is to send a text! Sue xx

Maz, I'm gonna ask some questions because no this isn't right... when did you last upgrade your handset? are you a contract customer? How much is your monthly bill roughly? Let me know and I'll get some answers for you.

Maz, That was why I changed also. O2 were not in the slightest bit interested about my leaving after 8 years!! I did check the coverage 1st though and 3 are very good, it is just the video sending you are restricted on areas at the moment. Kim

Maz (the Royal One) in the East End 9256 Report 11 Jan 2005 16:00

Diana - I have spoken to your lovely firm (!) and laid it on the line for them !! Basically they are not interested in the fact that we have been with them 10 years and are quite happy for me to go!! The deal I have been offered at carphone warehouse is LG phone free, 9 months at 15 quid then 3 months at 30 quid. 500 mins and 100 texts per month. Vodafone wouldn't match it in any way shape or form, which is disappointing! They couldn't offer me ANY Nokia phone free, yet I had a choice of free Nokia and other handsets at CW. I am very puzzled!!!! Do you think this is correct please. Maz. XX

Maz, Got mine 2 weeks ago LG 8120 on 3. The coverage is really good, got mine as we got son the same in November, his is via Phones 4U but mine is thru Dial-a-Phone. We both have the same contract, £15 for the 1st 3 months then £30 a month for the next 9 months, but every 4 months get reimbursed, so at the end of 12 months it averages out at £9.99 per month. That gives you 500 mins talk time anytime any network and 100 free texts per month. Really pleased with it. Kim x

If you are on a contract, speak to Vodafone and tell them you can get a better deal elsewhere, they should better the deal to keep your custom.... I know cos I work there. And to add a word of warning.... 3's coverage isn't great at the moment so you may find it not such a good deal!

Has anyone got an LG phone please and also is anyone on the '3' network? Have just looked at the LG U8120 phone and just wanted some feedback. I've been with Vodafone for yonks, but can get a better price with 3. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. Maz. XX
