Football football and more football - watching that is, not playing! There's nothing better than going to a match (in my opinion anyway) SUE

Len of the Chilterns Report 12 Jan 2005 22:26

Hi Andy I used to be a motorcyclist and had a stable of half a dozen vintage machines in various stages of restoration. Now I drive a 14 year old car which I need to lug around my camera equipment which weighs a ton. I used to do oil painting but found photography quicker - and more competitive. I am also interested in gardening and wildlife. My witch hazels have just come into bloom. Also an avid reader of scientific books and magazines. My 80 year old hips are in good nick so I walk a lot. I used to have other hobbies but geneaology has kind of pushed them out of the way! Still ring the church bells one evening and on Sundays, but the sailing has gone by the board (not helped by the fact that the sailing club closed and anyway on my last outing there I capsized, bending the Enterprise centreboard and breaking the seat fastenings. No skill, time or money to fix it at the moment). :-(( Oh, and walk the dogs at weekends. But the CB radio and airband scanning have taken a back seat as well.

Angela, 900cc Kawasaki, big, green like Kermit the Frog! I loved it! But it had to go when I got to 9 points on my licence! I once saw 167 mph on the speedo in Belgium 4 years ago - how exciting! Now I'm pushing 58 and I think I should slow down a bit, so now it's a touring bike that will only do 125 , and is happiest at 80 -90.

I also paint ceramic ornaments and lights( I used to fire my own but dont have my kiln anymore, I enjoy photography, my digicamera has been my best buy for a long time. I used to walk a lot, especially in the Lake District but those days are no longer, unfortuneately. I am thinking of having a go at card making, next. June xx

Angela, I think they do polish them, and then gloat at their own reflection in the tank! I write as an ex ZX9R owner - 147mph on the road at the back of Newmarket racecourse! (Oops naughty!)

Andy Report 12 Jan 2005 21:47

Angela, I can't understand why anyone would spend 150k dollars making a bike that looks like a bad dream and handles like a shopping trolley! But as you say they are Americans, taste being an unfamiliar bedfellow for them!
