I don't even know if you can buy lard these days, Kaylene, but it's a white animal fat, like dripping and very bad for you. B

God I am so stupid. I stopped in the shop earlier to get the dark sugar and evaporated milk, and for some unknown reason all they had was Evaporated milk. so I found another shop and bought a tin of condenced, I was just going to make it and realise I should have evaporated. Is it possible do you reckon I could make it wiht Condenced as I really dont want to have to go out again just for that.

Drooling already. Interesting what everyone was saying on the other thread. I only ever had it at school, in Kent. Can give you the definitive pastry recipe, cos we asked: 12lb flour 3lb margarine 3lb lard cold water to mix B
