Customs and habits of other countries

Every country I suppose has a custom or habit which if you're not familiar with would think "strange". When laying the table for a Dutch family, even if they were only having a sandwich, you would lay a knife and fork. They eat their bread with a knife and fork. I thought this "strange" at first, but am used to it now. Do you know of any other similar habits? Sylvia xxx

When last we were in Holland(the Netherlands) we had breakfast of egg and bacon which was served on large pieces of toast. Strange but still tasted good. Rupert.

The Americans, on the whole, eat their meals with a fork, disregarding the knife. Works just as well! Sylvia xxx
