Recently, I asked my daughter to turn the 'tranny ' on. That's what we called transistor radio's when I was young. She explained that nowadays it's short fot transexual! Got that wrong then! Christine

So do I-and I still dial a phone number which is press button.I suppose that stayed in use as to 'key in' a number is longer to say.I wonder how many there are.

We were with our three year old grandson over the weekend and he said to his grandpa.''Press the sound up Grandpa'' indicating the button on the video controls. Now I would have said and still do say 'Turn the sound up'' Has anyone else noticed the change in colloquial language due to technology/ CURIOUS -Rose
