From my Guinness Book of Names the top 10 boys names for England and Wales in 1925 were: John William George James Ronald Robert Kenneth Frederick Thomas Albert The book gives the top 50 boys and girls names for the years 1700, 1800, 1850, 1875, 1900, 1925, 1950, 1965, 1975 and 1981 if anyone's interested just let me know. My Dad was born in 1921 and was Edward Roy. His brother, born the following year is Donald Leslie. My husband has uncles born in 1919, 1920 and 1922 called Leslie, George and Ronald. Sue xx

My dad born 1921 was Ronald, a name that seemed to drop into and out of fashion quite quickly.

A bit ghoulish, but look for Smith on Commonwealth War graves site for WW2. That ought to give a representative selection. B

My Father-in-Law was born in 1920 and his name is Thomas. He had a Brother who was born 1924, his name is Albert. Hope this might be of some help.

My brother was born 1927 and he was called Kenneth (Ken) Arthur (arthur after my father, but we dont have any other Ken's in the family. My cousin's who were a few years older than my brother were, Arthur, Harold, Alfie and Stanley. June xx
