Hubby was telling me about something he read in the paper. Apparently there's this mountian rescue team that has been running for 45 years, surviving mainly on public donations. The past ten years they have had help with lottery money. Their lottery funding has just been withdrawn and they've had to give up. The reason the money was withdrawn - because they're not rescuing enough disabled people and assylum seekers! Now as I'm not a mountain climber myself I could be missing something, but I didn't think that they were the sort of people you found climbing mountains anyway! The world has gone mad! Jeanette x

Jeanette, I think the answer to your question is yes the world has gone mad. The moutain rescue team is a very worthy cause, I dont think they should have to rely on lottery money, they should at least receive a grant for the hard work they do. June xx

Jess and Linda Very annoying from both sides of the argument. What we need is people with common sense running the country. You wouldn't think it would be such a difficult quality to find would you? Jeanette x

My friend once applied for a job and was actually told that although she was the best qualified for it, they couldn't employ her as it had to go to a disabled person or one of ethnic origin as they were under their targets. I wonder how many other countries make allowances like these for the British? Chrissie

No wonder the government/employers are not running efficiently if they do not employ the best person for the job.
