Margaret, I hope you have been and got it done with by now. I hate them too but have to have them every 4 months, I sometimes drag it out to 6 months, the doc said he knew what I was up to and one time I went to see him and he said he couldn't do anything for me because I hadn't been for them as I should have done. so now I go regularly even though I dont like them. Love June xx

I once told my cousin that and in her words.."Whats scarier, the thought of them finding something early and treating it easily or not finding out until it is too late" Made me think

Caroline you really should go for one! I now go for them as soon as they send for me.... my cousin who is 35 scared me into it as she has had to have a full hysterectomy which they said might have been avoided if she had gone for regular smears! I know they are not pleasant and I spend the majority of time after feeling sick and dreading the results! But I couldnt bear to think what could happen if I didnt go!!

Margaret I have given birth to four kids but i stil need someone to hold my hand if I need a blood test!!! try taking a cold flannel with you, i wrap mine in a plastic bag, I have found that by putting it on my forehead or nape of my neck stops me getting hot. This in turn stops me throwing up

No Margaret...I always fear the worst! I used to put off going for smear tests because I was scared that they might find something...
