Kerry, Welcome to the Club! People have had a go at me for things I've written on the Board. I've never meant any harm, but a joke to one is an insensitive remark to another, and none of us really know what the rest might find offensive. I've also been offended by some postings, but I rarely say so, as it usually leads to unnecessary rows and bad feeling. If people offend me, I avoid them. Don't feel too bad. Most people aren't bothered and will say so, so don't let it put you off. Post what you like, within GR's guidelines, and just be prepared to accept the odd bit of flak. CB >|< :>)

Why not? Anyone who could be offended by someone else's attempts at fairly innocuous humour should either get out more - and stay silent - or stay in. Humour depends upon there being a victim at whom we can laugh, be it the joker himself (and some of the best stand-up comics use themselves for the gag), an individual (most often a politician), or an entire gender (usually women, of course, because, usually.....). I received this one (University of life for men) off a female friend some time ago and found it quite amusing in a sort of a male, self-deprecating kind of way. I don't take any forwarded email seriously, besides there's plenty of ones for females also, in retaliation from us blokes - what comes around, goes around etc. :-)

Kerry Report 24 Jan 2005 20:46

Never heard that before Fred but liked it... Its just some fun entertainment in a somewhat serious and depressing world, I like making people smile or laugh and I can take jokes about women as well as I give them about men.
