Internet Problem...

A couple of days ago someone posted a thread about losing their internet homepage! The same thing is happening with ours and we cant get it back on! We now have something called "About Blank" which is just a search site! Does anyone know where this other thread is or who posted it....even better, Does anyone know how to get back our ntl Thanks Bev

Hi Bev, You could try going onto ntlworld.com and clicking on make ntl my home page

When you have your Internet windown open, type www.ntlworld*com into the address bar. Then open up Tools > Internet Options. Where it says Home Page, click the 'Use Current' button and ok it all. Then click the Home button. (replace * with . )

Might be Spyware... google Adware remover and try that.

Bev Sounds like you've been hijacked! lol. Download and run Ad-Aware and SpywareBlaster. Think they are both mentioned on Judys one step routine pc maintenance on the Tips Board. Will go and nudge them for you Jeanette x

Greetings! Just a quick note.....after running ADAWARE take note of any .exe files that are found. Those are actual programs on your PC that are spyware/adware/browser hi-jackers and they need to be removed manually using your PC's ADD/REMOVE PROGRAM feature. ADAWARE and like programs remove the junk that these programs generate (ie Pop-ups, changing homepage address, etc....) but these programs do not remove the offending programs. Most of these offending programs have downloaded themselves on your C Drive in your PROGRAMS file. You can scroll through here and see if you notice any programs that don't belong. If in doubt what something is DON'T delete it as you don't want to delete an operating system program. Judy
