Fave semi-precious would be amethyst because I love the deep purple ones. But my favourite ring with stones is my mother-in-law's engagement ring, which she left me. It has a diamond (husband's birthstone) and a ruby (mine). I think she chose a diamond because it was originally a traditional engagement jewel, and a ruby because she married in July. When I had it valued I was told it was made in 1911 (so obviously second-hand). Now when I look at it I am reminded of my m-i-l who I loved, and the next census I want to get my hands on!! nell |

I love diamonds. My birthstone is sapphire, so when I got engaged I had a ring made of diamonds and sapphires. I love this ring. Jo. |

Sapphires and rubies are the same rock, anything that isn't ruby coloured is a sapphire, so pink, white, blue, yellow and green apparently!! |
