I get stressed out sometimes. I've heard of people who have committed suicide because of exam pressure. Don't know how I'll cope in May!! Lucia

If you mean are we being too soft in regard to their upbringing and the way they are allowed to behave then ,yes we are.If on the other hand you mean schooling then we do push far too hard,children are no longer allowed to be children ,and play in the evenings ,they are pushed at school ,pushed at home after school with obligitory homework and extra studies,it's no wonder they are stressed out.Have my time again,? i think not ,i know the kind of childhood that was,is better.Fred.ptfg&g.

It's getting the balance right between encouraging them to have hobbies/interests and leaving them free to 'chill out' occasionally that's difficult. We encouraged our son to belong to things but he didn't go somewhere every night, after school, like some kids do......at school, of course, these days they are pushed to get results for the schools and their position in the league tables! Top priority for our children should be happiness, let them w8 till they're adults before they have to deal with stress, if poss.
